Rocks were cleaned, dried, and painted with uplifting sayings to be left for anyone in need. There were two days of painting. One Saturday afternoon, a group of eager people came together to develop their creativity under the direction of Dana and Jody. On another day, Dana led a group from Fayette Resources. They were excited to complete such a creative, artsy project. These rocks can be left for someone special or under the tree in the area outside the store. Give someone the strength they need to go on this day. Make someone's day worthwhile.
The Prayer Tree--All Are Welcome!
An outdoor area was contructed to encourage everyone to spend some quiet time with God. There is a beautiful, serene spot in the grassy area on St. Vincent de Paul's campus. Two reflection benches were constructed and donated by Bernie Sulak and Tom Hidock. Prayer boxes were made by Ron Wells to hold anyone's prayer intentions. The "House of Prayer" library box holds supplies to write your prayer intentions as well as free inspirational cards and booklets. The House of Prayer was also constructed by Bernie and Tom.
Our inspirational Library Box, dedicated to the honor of a super volunteer, Nancy Lawson, is filled with spiritual books to take or give. The Library Box was constructed and donated by Tony Kazulen.
Come and enjoy this serene environment. It welcomes all people at all times, as God does. Leave your prayer intentions if you wish. They will be prayed over weekly. Take any spiritual materials from the Library Boxes to help you along your journey to God. While there, help yourself to a rock from "Kindness Rocks."
